When Art Meets the Canal: The 15-Meter "Ready to Go" Panda Arrives in Wuxi
The Grand Canal has always been a place where history flows, but this week, it became the stage for a modern masterpiece. As part of the Wuxi Liangxi "Reading the City" Action and the Nanjian Upgrade Art Season, a massive 15 meter giant panda titled "Ready to Go" has officially taken up residence at Nanjian Park.
Created by the renowned artist Zhao Bandi, this iconic installation has traveled from the streets of Beijing to the neon lights of Hong Kong. Now, standing tall in the heart of Wuxi’s Liangxi District, its "ready to go" posture perfectly mirrors the city’s own vibrant energy and momentum toward the future.
Our team at Jiangxi Gauss was honored to collaborate on this landmark project, bringing our "Special Equipment" engineering expertise to the world of public art. Constructing a 15 meter tall structure is a feat of precision; it requires more than just fabric it requires the same high-pressure durability and structural integrity we apply to our industrial and military grade solutions. Standing as tall as a five-story building against the Wuxi skyline, the sculpture proves that with the right engineering, even the boldest artistic dreams can become a reality.
There is something truly special about Nanjian Park the way the industrial history of the canal meets the lush green spaces of the city. We are proud that our technical craftsmanship helped create a bridge between Wuxi’s ancient heritage and its modern, creative soul.
